On October 20 and 21, Ageotec hosted the two-day workshop “Norbit and QPS: news and applications” at the Ravenna Sailing Club in partnership with the Norwegian company Norbit Subsea and the Ducth QPS.
More than 40 people from five different countries, representing about 20 companies, research institutes and military institutions, took part at the event. Ageotec, Norbit and QPS presented their newest products, in a vibrant format which alternated lectures and practical operating demonstrations at sea.
On day one, Peter Koldgaard Eriksen, Norbit Business Development Director, presented the full range of multibeam echo sounders, with a specific focus on the innovative and compact iWBMSc, which was installed on the survey boat used in the harbor in the afternoon.
On the second day, Duncan Mallace, QPS Business Development Director, revealed the totally revamped QPS package suite, focusing extensively on the newest product, Qimera, and its peculiarities. During the lecture, Duncan was able to use some data collected at sea on the day before.
Two sunny days, the hospitality of the Ravenna Sailing Club and last but not least the expertise of the attendees- with their challenging and stimulating questions- all contributed to the overall success of the workshop, that Ageotec intends to repeat and turn into an annual event.
