Hospice Seràgnoli Foundation, a great Institution we choose to support

LIGHTHOUSE is pleased to announce that it has recently become a member of the Club delle Imprese Amiche della Fondazione Hospice which is born to actively involve private companies in helping the Hospice Seràgnoli Foundation to share its objectives and actively supporting it in spreading its values.

THE FOUNDATION
The Hospice Seràgnoli Foundation was created with the aim of improving the quality of life and alleviating the suffering of patients with incurable diseases, supporting their families and spreading the culture of Palliative Care.

In 2002 the Foundation gave birth to the Hospice Bentivoglio, in 2007 it obtained the management of the Hospice Bellaria and in 2012 of the Hospice Casalecchio. The access to these Hospices is completely free, thanks to accreditation with the National Health System and to the donors who support the project.

Moreover, since 2006 the Foundation has established a fruitful collaboration with the Italian Academy of Sciences of Palliative Care, to deal with training and research.

Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and psychologists of the Foundation take care of the physical, psychological and spiritual suffering of patients and their families.

“Insieme per Hospice”is the initiative which involve private companies in supporting the Foundation and it represents a wonderful opportunity for companies such as LIGHTHOUSE, who choose to actively contribute spreading a culture that fosters the increasingly in-depth knowledge of Palliative Care and to support their projects which favor patients with incurable diseases.

Associating the name of LIGHTHOUSE to the communication and dissemination initiatives of the Hospice Foundation is certainly an honor, but above all it allows our company to contribute to the diffusion of a mentality in which we deeply believe.

The 7th edition of Marine Geomatics Master Course

In the last years Lighthouse has developed a strong partnership with the University of Genoa to enhance the Master Course Marine Geomatics and Applied Technologies To Marine Environment. The Second Level Postgraduate Master Course, now at its 7th edition, aims at providing students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Marine Geomatics. 15 months long, the formative program offers three different specializations: Hydrography for Nautical Cartography, Hydrography for Coasts and Ports Management & Remote Sensing.

Participants profile

The Master, borne out by the University of Genoa in collaboration with the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute, is designed for University Graduates with a specialistic degree in scientific disciplines, as well as Navy Officers from Italy and abroad. The Master can be attended also by University Graduates holding a specialistic degree in other disciplines, as long as in possession of the necessary requisites of competence and professional experience.

Career opportunities

The employment opportunities offered by the Master regard Companies operating in the fields of marine resources, coastal, port and maritime works, underwater activities (maritime works foundations, conduit and cable laying, dredging), nautical equipment production and nautical charting, Local and Port Authorities, Civil Protection and the Italian Navy Hydrographic Institute. After the Master Course and two years of documented operational work, students can obtain the Category A Hydrographer Qualification, ratified by the International Hydrographic Organization.

The WACOMA Master Program

The initiative

Lighthouse has recently participated to the submission to the European Commission of a proposal concerning a Joint European Erasmus Mundus Master in WAter and COastal MAnagement (WACOMA). It is a 24 month program with a central focus on multidisciplinary aquatic, environmental and marine sciences. Based on an advanced teaching program, the Master aims at promoting an exchange of information with a direct involvement of the coastal end users and stakeholders.
The main objective of this program is the formation of Master academic training and capacity building program in the multidisciplinary domain of fresh water, marine and in general environmental sciences, with a solid knowledge of environmental and legal instruments.

The course

The course draws on EU research projects and case studies, as well as laboratory experiments and field trips. Students are trained in both the collection and analysis of data and the transformation of data into information. The training includes solving practical management problems of catchments, wetlands, coasts, Ports and in general freshwater and marine areas as well as the comparison of alternate solutions.
The proposed Master â€˜WACOMAâ€ is a 2 years program running over three periods at different leading European Universities, with research activities carried out at HEIs and Associate Members of the Consortium.

Our contribution

Lighthouse, which strongly believes in the importance of the mutualistic relationship between companies and universities, chooses to join the WACOMA Master Program and strengthens its collaboration with the universities

Lighthouse will actively support the initiative promoting the WACOMA Master within and outside the network in order to recruit and select students and participating in the advisory board meeting for external assessment/evaluation and the quality program. Moreover, Lighthouse will be able to collaborate giving advice, proposing adjustments to the course and taking part in teaching activities by offering specialised lectures and seminars.

LIGHTHOUSE joins the BBS Business Network

Lighthouse has recently joined the BBS Business Network, a program for business organizations that provides its members with information and access to highly innovative research and the most advanced business solutions. Through these relationships, which generate mutual value, the Business Network contributes to the achievement of the school mission: to develop new knowledge, offer advanced expertise to the local economic system, encourage the adoption and application of research findings.
Moreover, Lighthouse is now developing a special program in collaboration with BBS, which aims at supporting and promote the personal and professional improvement of its management, through a flexible and inter-disciplinary study program.

We are delighted to officially announce the renaming of our Company and the launch of our new website.
For almost 30 years on the market, GAS â€“ Geological Assistance & Services has come a long way, transforming itself from a small local Company into a survey Company with an international footprint and branches across the world. Our teams of qualified and experienced engineers, surveyors and geologists has proven to be our most valuable asset, offering customers the best service. Without exception, GAS prides itself for the reputation built in expertise and flexibility. And today we are ready for a new challenge. We restructure our Company, reorganizing our departments to fit the best workflow. We renovate our fleet and survey equipment. New and important projects are calling us. To underline our efforts, we change our name in LIGHTHOUSE.

GAS @ Geoday

It’s time of Geoday: Flying dinosaurs, scavenger hunts, open lessons, laboratory experiments and many games, both for children and adults…a great week end dedicated to Geology!

For the first time our Company supported the Geoday, the two-day long event organized by the Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Bologna to celebrate the four centuries of the Faculty in our city. Open museums and open lessons; stands where it will be possible discover something more about vulcanology, speleology and petrografy; tours around the medieval centre of Bologna with guides that will show you something you never noticed before…A great event that last year registered thousands of participants.

The participation at the Geoday has been really positive for our Company, the event presented interesting opportunities to meet students and teachers, to talk about Geology with visitors, academics, researchers… and to spread the knowledge of our reality.

We are very proud to announce the opening of a Kazakh company, GAS KCO, in Almaty Republic of Kazakhstan.
Although young, GAS KCO incorporates more than 20 years experience in geophysical acquisition and in seismic data processing and interpretation.
A regional reference point for 2D and 3D seismic data processing and interpretation, offshore geophysical survey needs and support to construction services.

GAS KCO has an operative base in Atyrau (born as GAS’ kazakh branch and active since 2003) in the core of the North Caspian offshore activities.
