]]> In October 2015, GAS Azerbaijani branch was awarded to provide ROV visual inspection of the existing TOTAL’s well head in the Absheron field.
TOTAL is the operator of the Absheron offshore condensate gas field, and the development plan is currently being defined. The Absheron offshore field, discovered in 2011, is located in the southern Caspian Sea and as a water depth of 500 m. GAS carried out this ROV visual inspection using the ROV Perseo GTV built by Ageotec. The ROV visual inspection has been successfully completed early in November with exceptional productivity thanks to the robustness and power of the vehicle, to the high definition cameras –streamed via fiber optic links to the surface in real time- and to the video processor which grants exceptional images even in poor visibility conditions. Ageotec is a leading company in production of best in class ROV systems and, as well as GAS, member of the Lighthouse Group.
Operation success confirms once again the strong role of GAS as one of the main survey contractor in the Caspian Sea area. In fact since 2013, GAS provided several surveys for TOTAL during the Absheron project development such as the Offshore Geophysical surveys which included a complex AUV survey.
